Chinese New Year

Every year, we host a Chinese New Year dinner. We get everyone’s birth date and prepare their Chinese Horoscope for the upcoming year. A fun way to spend a great evening with friends. This year, we prepared Chicken Wonton Soup, Pork Dumplings with Peanut Sauce, BBQ Asian Spareribs and Asian ground beef in Lettuce Cup. We always prepare more than the number of guests, so we can enjoy leftovers the following day. Chinese New Year 2022 – Year of Tiger –

For this year, we decided to do something a little different. Instead of printing horoscope for everyone, we sent all our guests a WhatsApp with their horoscope when they just sat at the table; after all, we are in 2023 ! Have you ever seen a group of guests break all the etiquette rules and open their phone at the table to read what the year of the Rabbit would bring to everyone. Whilst our guests read their predictions, it gave us time to serve the wine and prepare the first course ! On the menu this year, we prepared Sweet & Sour Szechuan Soup, Pork and Cabbage Dumplings with Thai Peanut Butter Sauce, Ground Port in Lettuce Cups and Lemon Chicken with Jasmine Rice. To finish, we served a Truffle Cake (recipe from Kim Sudabar). We had just enough to have another meal, the following day !
