Russian Buttercream

The easiest frosting to prepare with only two ingredients. It is creamy, glossy and not too sweet. The perfect frosting to test your piping skills

230 Gr. Butter at room temperature
390 Gr. Sweetened Condensed Milk

This is when your stand mixer comes handy. Using a paddle attachment, beat the butter until very light in color and fluffy. It takes a good 10 minutes. Stop on a few occasions to scrape the bottom of the bowl, making sure everything is well mixed together.
After 10 minutes, continue beating at slow speed and pour the entire can of milk. When fully incorporated, whisk at medium-high speed for a minute or so.
Keep it in the fridge for 15 minutes, until it becomes cool and you can start piping away !

  1. I have never heard of Russian buttercream before (I live a sheltered life) how brilliant is that. Will be using in the future for birthday cakes. Thank you
